Player Development Program

What is the Player Development Program?

The USA Prime Northeast Player Development Program is designed to drive home the fundamentals of the game. Through concentrated workouts we look to have players achieve 3,000-5,000 reps each month in their primary skill position and hitting. We pride ourselves in bringing professional level instruction, a high energy, high pace, and competitive environment to every player development session. The great thing about our player development program is we open our doors to players from all organizations in order to create the most competitive and rewarding environment for all athletes to excel mentally and physically.

How does the Player Development Program work?

(1) Evaluate – When you enter the player development program you are tested and given a baseline score that we will use to track and increase your performance. This will identify your strengths and weaknesses moving forward.

(2) Educate – We are not the type of program that will run you through a ton of meaningless drills and exercises that make you sweat and feel exhausted. We are a full developmental facility and we strive to educate each player in methods and methodology. This is a must. Every player possesses a unique set of skills and we want to help them maximize their potential by providing the proper guidance through education and the ability to master the fundamentals.

(3) Accelerate – Our agenda is simple: Every player should develop the understanding and ability to master the fundamental skills that will help them thrive in their primary position, at bat, or on the mound. To achieve results each month we recommend a minimum of 3, 1 hour sessions each week. The sessions are position based and easily set up around your schedule. The more you put in the more you get out, to achieve maximum results every player should look to attend as many of these PDP sessions as possible.

(4) Repeat – Now that we have identified your baseline score, educated you on the fundamentals, and implemented the process it is time to reinforce your growth in the measurables. The beginning of each month will start with a re-test to keep track of your progress and focus on how to continue down the path of being an USA Prime Northeast player.

(5) Measurables – Using our comprehensive player development testing system we assess each player on the following categories and develop a baseline score to create a clear picture and roadmap of where you are and where you need to get to:

  • (a) Throwing Accuracy
  • (b) Throwing Velocity
  • (c) Exit Velocity
  • (d) Standing Broad Jump
  • (e) Seated Med Ball Throw
  • (f) Pro Shuttle (5-10-5)
  • (g) Laser Timed 30 Yd Dash
  • (h) Grip Strength (Left and Right)

Lessons are a great way to get some extra work in on top of the player development program sessions or if you prefer a more 1 on 1 setting. We understand that each of our instructors possesses a mastery of a specific skill set (infield, outfield, pitching, catching, hitting) and we are proud to be able to deliver the highest level of private instruction in the Northeast.

With private lessons you can expect a more personal touch with one of our
qualified and professional instructors during your half hour or hour long session.

We have multiple types of lessons available to our in house and outside players

Team Training

Our team of professional instructors and coaches are here to create a comprehensive, high energy, competitive, and rewarding team training experience for you and your team. We pride ourselves at USA Prime Northeast on being able to take your team for the Fall or Winter months and training them so that they are ready to hand back to you come competition time. Team training is a great way for coaches to take a step back, learn from our instructors/coaches, and help their players take it to the next level.

Even though we take complete control of the team during these sessions we do invite the coaches of each team to take part and be involved during the sessions so they are aware and educated on what we are teaching and how we are speaking. This is beneficial for both players and coaches so that come game time everyone is firing on all cylinders and on the same page.

Rest assured that our team of professional instructors are more than equipped to have your team ready for game time competition this upcoming season.
